The cannabis industry is not new. It has been there for a long time, but it has been illegal for the majority of the time. As the tides have changed and more US states have legalized the recreational use of marijuana, it has become a topic that more people in the world know about.

A lot of companies are entering this space and they are looking at data science as one way to get ahead in this industry. There is an increase in data scientists applying to these companies because most cannabis-related companies do not have enough data scientists on their team or they just don’t think of using data science at all.

Data science has helped the cannabis industry thrive: using algorithms to discover what compounds work best with which cannabinoids; predicting customer behavior, and growing cannabis without soil or other inputs that do not interfere with THC content.

A cannabis data pipeline is the lifeline of any company in this industry. It provides an avenue for companies to efficiently and accurately track their inventory, manage their sales, and optimize their marketing efforts.
