The analogy is natural. Businesses don’t wake up one morning and decide to move to a different data center. Incremental development decisions and product changes over time build up the need for change.

How cloud migration differs from typical data center migrations?

Unlike traditional server-to-server migration, cloud migration has everything to do with infrastructure.

“I hear you are planning to move your data center next year, right?”

“Yes, we are moving from premise to host.”

“What’s the difference? What has changed?”

Would you pay the server to host your web application? Of course, you wouldn’t. You would want them to host it on their own and set up your infrastructure like your own data center.
